Charterpoint is a company specialising in healthcare and mixed-use developments. We are working with the Drummond Trust to bring forward the first Local Centre at New Lubbesthorpe. This website gives you the opportunity to look at our proposals and give us your comments on them.
Our proposals will provide much needed community facilities including local convenience shopping and health care and will complete the development of the Tay Road feature square that was started with the primary school. Our proposals are in two parts.
An overview of the proposals can be seen on the plans below. There is also a short video that illustrates what the finished scheme will look like.
Tay Road Local Centre
Part A relates to the construction of a mixed use building which is the core of the Tay Road Local Centre.
At ground floor it will incorporate a convenience food store and four retail units, at least one we hope will be a café and one a pharmacy. A medical centre will be located at first floor accessible by stairs and lifts.
Vehicular access will be from Tay Road to the landscaped parking court and servicing at the rear of the retail units.

Tay Road Care Home
Part B relates to a full planning application for the erection of a residential care home.
The care home will be located on the land between the proposed mixed-use building (Part A) and Girvan Drive. The building will front Tay Road and is in the main two storeys in scale with a small section of third floor on the front. It is set back from Tay Road to provide for visitor car parking and landscaping on the frontage.
Vehicular access to the care home is shared with the mixed-use building via Tay Road; there is no access from Girvan Drive.
The existing hedge along Girvan Drive will be retained as part of the proposals.
